Common questions
Before choosing Okinawa diving and snorkeling
Do I need a scuba certification?
A snorkeling trip does not require scuba certification. Introductory-diving products are designed for non-certified participants under operator supervision. A certified fun dive requires a recognized diving credential; confirm the exact card, experience and recency requirements with the operator.
Can I dive before flying?
Okinawa’s official safety guide advises against flying on the same day as diving. Ask a qualified dive professional about the appropriate surface interval for your itinerary.
Will the advertised ocean site always be used?
No. Wind, waves, current and safety decisions can change the site or cancel water access. Check the operator’s current sea-condition policy.
